Make Your Black Friday Email Campaign Shine! 🌟
As the Black Friday frenzy takes over, your email campaign needs to rise above the rest. The key to success lies in the details - particularly, the subject line of your emails.
Take a look at my inbox from last year:
Generic subject lines such as “Black Friday Sale” are a dime a dozen during this shopping season. To truly capture your audience’s attention, specificity is key. For instance, if you’re offering a 20% discount on all items, don’t shy away from stating it outright in your subject line.
Moreover, consider breaking away from the traditional “Black Friday” phrase in your subject line. As you can see from the above examples, the unique, clever subject lines that relate to the business are rarer and more engaging. You can also let your creativity shine through with the use of emojis that encapsulate the essence of your products.
Some other ways to create a unique and engaging subject line is to ask a question. Questions can pique curiosity and encourage the recipient to open the email for the answer.
Try using personalization, and think of your end user. What would entice them to open your Black Friday email above all others? Depending on your brand, you can really experiment here (although you might not want to take a risk like this on Black Friday. A/B testing subject lines is always encouraged!) I’ve received some emails with very different and mysterious subject lines that got me opening that email quickly. One that comes to mind was from Really Good Emails, that simply said:
Damn, Rebecca
The curiosity and element of surprise (Damn, Rebecca? Damn Rebecca what?!) was enough to get me to open that email and see what it was all about.
Remember, keep it short and sweet. Long subject lines can get cut off, especially on mobile devices. Aim for about 50 characters.
Above all else, the goal is to be both unique and direct. This ensures that your email stands out amongst all the other Black Friday promotional emails.
